How to claim
Online through Lumo's Delay Repay site. Logging in is optional and lets you follow your claims. By post, download the form and send it with the original tickets and reservations, or the full booking confirmation, to Freepost LUMO DELAY REPAY. No stamp is needed.
How you are paid
Online: bank transfer, credit or debit card, cheque, a Lumo e-voucher, or a donation to Action for Children. The paper form offers cheque or e-voucher only. Lumo decides within 20 working days and pays bank transfers within 14 days of approval.
Automated Delay Repay
LumoFixed and LumoFlex tickets bought on Lumo's website or LumoGo app qualify. Register for Delay Repay with the same email as your Lumo account and opt in no later than the day you travel; it cannot be added afterwards. When a Lumo train is 30 minutes late, the claim is made within 24 hours and an email asks you to confirm. Payment takes up to five working days. Open Anytime tickets are claimed the usual way.
Cancelled trains and missed connections
If your train was cancelled and you did not travel, ask for a refund where you bought the ticket. If you still made the journey, claim Delay Repay.
Claim from the company whose train was late. Lumo passes claims about other companies' trains to them, and tickets for another company's train bought through Lumo are claimed from that company.
Worth knowing
- Common reasons for refusal: under 30 minutes, a duplicate, wrong details, over 28 days, a ticket already claimed, or another company's train.
- Claims are not normally accepted if you knew about the disruption before you bought the ticket.
- To appeal, email [email protected].
Platted keeps the record for you
Platted keeps every journey you take with it for 13 months, with what a claim form asks for: the date, the stations, the booked and actual times, how late, why, and the operator. Each one copies with a tap. When a train arrives late enough to claim, Platted tells you once, then once more a week before the window shuts.
You claim on the operator's own site. Platted does not claim for you, sends the operator nothing and takes nothing from what you are paid.
